The purpose of the parish Religious Education Program is to assist parents with the sacred responsibility of educating their children in the Catholic faith.  The parish offers formal classroom instruction through the Catechetical Ministry as well as a Family Program of religious instruction.   Catechists and substitute catechists are needed.  If you are interested, please contact Karen in the Religious Education Office (516-671-0418) as soon as possible.   For more information, please call
Karen Croce at
516-671-0418

A catechist is a person who believes in Jesus Christ, lives that belief within a community of Catholics, and is called to share that belief with others.   Adult education classes are provided for catechists, parents and all interested adults.

Religious Education Registration for the school year 2011-2012 will take place at church after all Masses on the weekends of June 12th and 19th, 2011.

We seek to educate our students within a family-centered Catholic community.  We commit ourselves to Gospel values as we seek to develop our students’ intellectual gifts and foster their spiritual growth.  Our aim is to prepare our students to lead creative and productive lives which contribute to the growth of both God’s kingdom and our nation.  For more info, visit the school website at  www.asrcatholic.org.

This ministry is for boys and girls who are interested in developing their talents as athletes, and for men and women who as coaches provide guidance, experience and Direction to the children.  The CYO Program offers young people the opportunity to grow as individuals and as contributing members of their teams, their parish and their community. In addition, a flourishing CYO program adds to the strength and vitality of the parish and offers the opportunity to build Christian community among its participants.

Our parish follows Pope Benedict XVI’s advice
to use social media as a means to spread the Gospel.

“Church communities have always used the modern media for fostering communication, engagement with society, and, increasingly, for encouraging dialogue at a wider level.
Yet the recent, explosive growth and greater social impact of these media make them all the more important for a fruitful priestly ministry.”

     -  Pope Benedict in his January, 2011 message for the 44th World Day of Communications.
