The Feast will feature a number of exciting improvements which will renew it as a celebration of life of our Parish:

• An all new “Food Court” with a great variety of delicious choices.  Parishioners will be staffing and cooking at all the food booths,  thereby assuring fresher, better tasting and more affordable food.    

• Sat., June 5:  St. Boniface Feastday.  Festive Mass at 5, followed b y a Barbeque Chicken Dinner in the auditorium;  $10 admission, children under 5 free.    

• “POP” Rides - “Pay One Price” $20 each day for unlimited rides.    

• Live music each night;  continuous DJ music all other times.
  On Thursday, June 4, hear BRYCE LARSEN, Star of “American Idol”!

• Basketball “Shoot-Out” in the Gym, 4th Grade and  up;  Win sports ts tickets and other exciting prizes.    

• RAFFLE for cash prizes:  Two $1,000.00 prizes, Five $500 and Ten $100.00.

As a member of the St. Boniface Finance Committee for several years, I find it sometimes difficult to equate finance to stewardship. Just by reading the parish directory in the weekly bulletin you become aware of the various ministries at St. Boniface and marvel at the talented people that sacrifice so much time to participate in such ministries. Each of these ministries touch so many souls and spirits. These ministries include Senior Outreach, Holy Hour, Scripture Group, Rosary and Justice and Peace.

How does the Finance Ministry fit in such a group? Finance is the science of the management of assets, including money, for a corporate body or institution. It took me a while to make the connection, but the fact is that the Finance Committee is a ministry and belongs right smack in the middle of all the organizations that care for the minds and souls of the St. Boniface family. Effectively managing the parish’s finances provides the resources for payment of ongoing maintenance such as painting the church, repairing the organ or even the reduction of long term debt. These activities ultimately benefit all the other ministries and enable them to better spread the good news. As a member of the Finance Committee, I have experienced tremendous satisfaction and witnessed many hours of debating to accomplish what is in the best interest of all parishioners. Looking back over the years, The Finance Committee appears to be serving its ministry well.

Through the sharing of scripture stories, prayer and growth experiences, the family recognizes the importance of daily life and how their life responds to the life of Jesus.  Through the Sunday Liturgy, communal prayer services and family workshops, the families gather as a small community in preparation for the celebration of the sacrament.  The coordinator invites parishioners to share their faith with the candidates during the workshops, offer administrative assistance or help coordinate the prayer service and the Blessing Cup Meal.

The First Eucharist Program welcomes all candidates who are ready to continue the journey they began at baptism.  The Table of the Lord program combines group meetings after Sunday liturgy with home instruction.  At the Blessing Cup Meal the sacramental symbols of water, oil, bread, wheat and the special cup remind participants that as a family of God, they are unified.  Also, families are invited to gather for a prayer vigil to recognize the need to forgive and to be forgiven.

As a gesture of welcome from the parish community, each child receives a special invitation card inviting them to the Table of the Lord, handmade by members of the parish Senior Outreach.  Eileen Krieb coordinates both the First Eucharist and the Confirmation programs.

Volunteers are needed to assist the Sacrament Coordinator with administrative duties and hospitality.
