To provide our parish families with the support they need to integrate into our parish community and to assist them in raising their children in the Catholic faith.

Thank you to everyone who made last year’s program such a success!

Since everything seemed to work out last year, we will continue the same basic program for next year with only one significant change:

This means we will be confirming both 7th- and 8th-graders this year.

We will be having a parents night on Thursday, Sept 17th at 7pm in the church to explain the program to our new families. If you are returning from last year, you are welcome to attend also, but it is not necessary.

Please join our St Boniface Faith Formation WhatsApp community, since it will be our primary method of communicating with you and keeping you up to date throughout the year.

You can ask anyone who is already a community member for an invite or email us for a link.

Instead of trying to force everyone into a one-size-fits-all box, we will be offering a variety of activities and leaving it up to you to decide which of these best suit your family’s needs and interests. Other than a few mandatory events for our first communion and confirmation candidates, you are free to participate in as many of these activities as you wish.

By far, the most important part of any Faith Formation program is the regular attendance at Sunday Mass. This is the only part of our program that is absolutely mandatory. This is important not only for the children, but for the entire family as well. Everything we are doing in our Faith Formation program is built on the foundation of regular Mass attendance.

Our family program will meet one Sunday each month from 8:45–10:15 in the school. We will begin each session in the gym with prayer and some time with Fr Josef. Then we will break out into family groups for discussion and activities focusing on Christian family life.

This program is for the entire family, not just the children. If you are interested in participating, simply come to our first meeting on September 27.

The dates for our family program this year will be:

  • September 27
  • October 25
  • November 22
  • December 20
  • January 24
  • February 28
  • March (Easter Break)
  • April 4
  • May 2

Our middle school program will be at the same time and on the same Sundays as the family program.

The students will meet in groups (without the parents) and will be led by a volunteer.

We will focus on helping the children take ownership of their faith life and learn what it means to be a disciple of Jesus Christ.

If you are interested in participating, simply come to our first meeting on September 27.

For an at-home, self-guided deep dive into the teachings of the Catholic faith, we will be using the Faith and Life series from My Catholic Faith Delivered.

Please contact StBonFaith@gmail.com if you are interested.

We will be preparing our 2nd graders for First Communion and our 7th and 8th graders for Confirmation. Please see the First Communion and Confirmation info sheets for details.

Throughout the year, we will be offering opportunities for the family to integrate into our parish life through community building events and service projects. Activities will include:

  • November – Thanksgiving Food Drive
  • Advent – Trees of Joy
  • December 5 – Christmas around the World
  • December 5 – Christmas Pageant
  • December 20 – Christmas Caroling
  • Lent – 40 Days 40 Items
  • Lent – Mite Boxes
  • March 1-4 – Children’s Stations of the Cross
  • March 28 – Easter Egg Hunt
  • May 2 – May Crowning & End of the Year Picnic
  • May 20-23 – Feast by the Shore
  • First Saturdays – Sandwich making for Outreach
  • TBD – Children’s Choir

To prepare your child for First Communion, please participate in as much of our Faith Formation program as you wish.

In addition, please plan on attending the events listed below.

The following dates are mandatory for our First Communion program.

The children do not need to attend the Parents Nights, but they are welcome. All of these events
are in the church.

Please bring a copy of your child’s baptismal certificate to the parents night, or send it by email, or drop it off at the office as soon as possible.

If your child is not yet baptized, please let us know so that we can arrange a baptism for them.

To prepare your child for Confirmation, please participate in as much of our Faith Formation program as you wish.
In addition, please plan on attending the events listed below.

The following dates are mandatory for our Confirmation program.

The children do not need to attend the Parents Night, but they are welcome. All of these events are in the church.

We will let you know the date of the Confirmation Ceremony as soon as we are given one by the bishop (we usually don’t find out until January or February).

We are requesting the end of May or the beginning of June. We will probably need two ceremonies this year.

Support your Parish Online

Dear Parishioner,

Thank you for your support of our parish’s many ministries! If you haven’t already done so, I’d like to ask you to consider joining many of your fellow parishioners at St. Boniface Martyr R.C. Church in making your generous gifts through Faith Direct – our convenient and secure electronic giving (eGiving) program!

eGiving through our online donations partner, Faith Direct, is the most effective and efficient way for you to sustain our parish ministries. Recurring, monthly gifts are greatly appreciated because they help us continually develop our ministries and outreach to have a greater impact, and allow us to keep up with increases in our general maintenance costs and expenses.

For those already enrolled, thank you for your participation in the Faith Direct electronic giving program! eGiving has proven to be the most cost-effective way for St. Boniface Martyr to receive your generous donations.

If you’d like to sign up, you can use their simple, secure online enrollment form.

For more information, you can also email info@faithdirect.net, or call their toll-free number, 866-507-8757, to speak with someone directly.

You can review the enrollment process by clicking on the YouTube video link below — it gives you a quick look at how easy it is to enroll and manage your account.

Thank you so much for supporting our parish, and may God bless you and your loved ones!

Fr. Josef
